CONCRETE ADMIXTURES
DESCRIPTION
KKS® ULTRAD 600 is a superplasticizer admixture with set retarding effect for the production of concrete in hot climates.
KKS® ULTRAD 600 complies with ASTM C494 type G.
ADVANTAGE
KKS® ULTRAD 600 combines all different impacts through absorbed process on the surface of fine particles and keep it apart from each other in cement hydration processing:
• Substantial improvement in workability without increased water.
• Allow substantial cement reduction compared to plain concrete.
• Long lasting slump retention.
• Easy pump, no water separation.
• Faster evolution of early strength development.
• Improved creep resistance and shrinkage resistance characteristics.
KKS® ULTRAD 600 is chloride free and other corrosive substances. Therefore it can be used in most of the reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures.
USE
KKS® ULTRAD 600 is used especially for concrete that needs long lasting slump retention under hot climate condition e.g.:
• Mass concrete pouring.
• Precast concrete.
• Transport concrete away.
• Climbed pump concrete.
• Cast-in-place pre-stressed concrete.
• Slender components with dense reinforcement.
APPLICATION
DOSAGE
• Dosage: 0.6 – 1.2 liters/ 100 kg of cement.
• Typical dosage: 0.8 – 1.1 liters/ 100 kg of cement.
COMPATIBILITY
KKS® ULTRAD 600 is possible to combine with all KKS’s concrete admixture products, but it must be added separately to the mix. KKS® ULTRAD 600 is compatible with all Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement.
DISPENSING/ MIXING
KKS® ULTRAD 600 is added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry mix or added separately to the wetted concrete mix.
For optimum utilization of the ultra-high range water reducer we recommend a wet mixing time of 2-3 minutes.
When adding the balance of the batching water to adjust concrete consistency this should be done after a minimum of 2/3 of the wet mixing time to avoid surplus water in the concrete.
PLACING OF CONCRETE
With the use of KKS® ULTRAD 600, concrete of highest quality is being produced, it should be complied and applied with standard procedures, such as mixing, placing vibrating and curing must be respected and applied.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS/ LIMITATIONS
Overdosing will result in increased workability and setting time of the concrete; however, provided that curing is effective, ultimate concrete strength and properties will not be affected.
Use an appropriate concrete mixer and do not mix by hand.
Trials mixes are recommended to establish exact dosage rates required to suit individual requirements. Please contact KKS Technical Department for further assistance.
CURING
Effective measures for concrete curing must be followed.
