CONCRETE ADMIXTURES
DESCRIPTION
KKS® TM 28 is a concrete plasticizer specially designed for Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) structures.
KKS® TM 28 complies with ASTM C494 Type B & D.
ADVANTAGE
For Fresh Concrete
- Initial setting is delayed allowing time for proper placement and compacting new layer over the retarded RCC without cold joint
- Increase the time available to re compacting the concrete without damaging the material
- Decrease the mortar of concrete bonding volume
- Increase of the cement efficiency
- Diminish the rate of initial heat generation.
For Hardened Concrete
- Increase the mechanical strengths in any weather conditions
- Diminish the heat generation and the cracking risk
- Increase the density of the RCC
USE
KKS® TM 28 is used in structural and mass concrete where long setting times and improved workability are required, such as:
- Large pours, to prevent formation of cold joints in RCC dams
- Long travel times from the concrete plant to the construction’s site
- Difficult placing conditions and details
- High ambient temperature
APPLICATION
DOSAGE
0.2 – 2.0 liters/100 kg of cement.
Compatibility
KKS® TM 28 is possible to combine with all KKS’s concrete admixture products, but it must be added separately to the mix. KKS® TM 28 is compatible with all Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement.
CONSUMPTION
KKS® TM 28 is either added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry concrete mix or added separately to wetted concrete mix, further mixing should take place for at least 1 minute per m3.
NOTICE ON OVERDOSING
When overdosed, setting time will be extended.
NOTES ON APPLICATION
Trial mixes are recommended to establish exact dosage rates required to suit individual requirements. If assistance is required, please contact the KKS Technical Service Department.
