DESCRIPTION
KKS® RETARD 850 is a specialized substance to inhibit the setting process, which have been specifically designed for the production of exposed aggregate finishes or for producing a mechanical key to construction joints, stop ends, or subsequent rendering applications.
KKS® RETARD 850 is the liquid retarder for horizontal construction joints and surfaces.
ADVANTAGE
•    KKS® RETARD 850 is an easy and economical method of obtaining a mechanical key for “kicker” joints, renderings and screeds on horizontal surfaces of freshly placed concrete.
•    KKS® RETARD 850 eliminates the need for grit-blasting, hacking and scabbing, leaving the aggregate unbroken and firmly embedded.
•    Does not reduce the ultimate bond strength between concrete and reinforcement when the product is attached to the reinforcement prior to concrete application.
•    Does not damage the bonding durability between surface, aggregates and adhesives such as mechanical methods.
•    The depth of exposure can vary for different mix designs, and up to 4mm is normal.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
APPLICATION
KKS® RETARD 850 is a ready-to-use liquid straight from its container. It should not be diluted. A good uniform coat of material should be sprayed onto the horizontal concrete surface as soon as the initial “bleeding” of the concrete has finished. (A large garden spray or watering pail is quite suitable).
APPLICATION CONDITIONS/ LIMITATIONS
After the initial cure of the concrete has elapsed, the soft cement paste on the surface can be brushed off and the aggregate exposed with clean water. While KKS® RETARD 850 is in use the concrete surface must be protected from rain, dirt, etc.
CLEANNING OF TOOLS
Spray equipment should be washed out after use with hot water to avoid hardening.
