DESCRIPTION
KKS® WATERBAR is flexible and heat resistant thermoplastic PVC, produced in specific profiles to stop the migration of water through construction and expansion joints in concrete structures.
They are available in a range of different sizes and types (V, O) according to their usage.
ADVANTAGE
•    Waterproofing when the concrete starts to harden.
•    Design with spines to ensure complete sealing.
•    Excellent chemical and alkaline resistance.
•    High elasticity, good aging resistance.
•    There are many types suitable for each location of the structure.
USE
KKS® WATERBAR
are used to waterproof construction- and expansion joints in concrete structures such as:
• Basement walls
• Retaining wall
• Irrigation project
• Waste water treatment tanks, underground water tanks, firefighting tanks
• Pool
• Expansion joint of basement, workshop floor
• Elevator pit
• Tunnels, drains
• Technical pit
APPLICATION
LOCATE

Positioning KKS® WATERBAR on the reinforcement by small holes along the edge with metal wire to fix, to avoid shifting during concrete pouring.
WELDING CONNECTIONS
Use electric welding at the site.
- Welding confrontation: Heat both ends of the weld joint with two sides of the welded knife when the PVC layer is melted, take the knife and squeeze the two joints together until they are cool and stick together. Check if the weld does not reach then welding again.Dùng dao điện hàn tại công trường.
- Welding overlap: Heat up the two joints at about 5cm when the PVC is poured out, take the knife and pair the two sides are melted together until the joints cool down and stick together.
FOR CONSTRUCTION JOINT
Use KKS® WATERBAR type V in the middle of the structure.
Positioning formwork
This positioning method allows one half of the KKS® WATERBAR to protrude and the remainder will be buried in the concrete and it will be fixed by the formwork.
Positioning by steel reinforcement
Use metal wires attached to steel bars to position them so that they do not move during concrete pouring.
FOR EXPANSION JOINT
Use KKS® WATERBAR type O in the middle of the structure. The KKS® WATERBAR type O can be positioned in two separated formwork. However, when used for the expansion joint, the empty "O" is not covered in the concrete and allows it to be elastic.
CONCRETING
Concreting phase 1
Before pouring concrete, check the installation and location of joints, bends, and altitude differences. KKS® WATERBAR promotes all features when both sides are deep in concrete, the pouring of concrete must follow the technical norms to avoid concrete pitting on the position of the construction joint.
Concrete mix design has a particle size of appropriate aggregate, the slump of concrete must meet the technical requirements of the design.
During the pouring process, the two sides of KKS® WATERBAR should be uniformly distributed to prevent the folding.
Concreting phase 2
Be careful when removing formwork around KKS® WATERBAR. Check the construction joints for pitting to repair it. Clean up the concrete splashing on the Waterbar by Concreting phase 1. Then proceed to pour concrete for the sequel.
