WATERPROOFING
DESCRIPTION
KKS® LATEX 310 is a modified styrene butadiene emulsion to be mixed with cement only or cement/ sand mortar that will form a type of membrane for improved adhesion and water resistant properties.
ADVANTAGE
• Extremely good adhesion.
• Enhance elasticity
• Excellent water resistance.
• Reduced shrinkage, improved chemical abrasion resistance.
• Non-toxic, suitable for used in cement mortar in contact with potable water
• Easy use for filling and patching mortars that require thin layer finishing.
USE
KKS® LATEX 310 is used for mixing with mortar to improve qualities and workability of:
• Bonding slurry, floor screeds.
• Waterproofing renders
• Patching mortars
• Concrete repair mortar.
• Abrasion resistant linings.
• Plastering mortar
• Tile fixing mortar
• Masonry mortar
APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete surface should be clean, free from oil, grease, cement laitance, all loosely adhering particles. Absorbent surfaces should be saturated thoroughly but no standing water.
MATERIALS
Aggregates should be well graded and thoroughly washed. Sand particles sizes should correspond to the thickness of mortar to be applied and required surface finish.
Mixing ratio/Application
• BONDING AGENT FOR RENDERING/ BONDING BETWEEN OLD AND NEW CONCRETE
Mixing ratio
1 liter KKS® LATEX 310 + 1 liter Water + 4 Kg Cement
Application
The above ratio may be cover around 4m2
Add water to KKS®LATEX 310 then cement and mix until an even, creamy consistency is achieved. Apply the KKS® LATEX 310 slurry onto the rewetted substrate in 1-2 mm thickness and place new concrete or mortar render immediately (wet-on-wet application).
• Floor screeds/renders
Mixing ratio
1 liter KKS® LATEX 310 with 3 liter of water
Application
Add above mixing to Cement and Sand mixture (Cement: Sand =1: 3) and mix until an even, creamy consistency is achieved. Apply the KKS® LATEX 310 mortar when the KKS® LATEX 310 bonding slurry is still wet. In case of multi-layer application, always work wet-on-wet.
1 liter KKS® Latex 310 /m2 onto the rewetted substrate in 2cm thickness.
Notes: Never use KKS® LATEX 310 and water as a bonding coat without adding cement.
CLEANNING OF TOOLS
Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.
