REPAIR - PROTECTION
DESCRIPTION
KKS® MORTATOP 383 is a one component, thixotropic, cementitious – modified polymer mortar containing silicate minerals and special admixtures to perform concrete/mortar repair functional.
ADVANTAGES
• Premixed at the factory, just add fresh water
• Easy to apply on clean, sound surfaces with the thickness of up to 60 mm.
• Good adhesion, especially for ceiling and vertical application
• Compatible with the thermal expansion feature of concrete
• Does not contain chlorine, does not corrode the steel reinforcement.
• Non-toxic, suitable for potable water
• Minimized shrinkage tendency
• Sulfate resistance, increased oil resistance and chemical resistance
USES
• Fast repairing for vertical, horizontal or ceiling surfaces of mortar and concrete both above and below ground.
• Repairing and filling holes, honeycombed areas, etc.
• Repair of spalled concrete caused by reinforcement corrosion.
• Repair and increase resistance to oils, sewage, chemicals, etc.
APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete or mortar surface must be, clean and free of oil, grease and other maintenance coat preventing the adhesion. For large areas, use sandblasting or high pressure spray or chisel. For smaller areas, use needle gunning or jack-hammering will effective. Mortar and concrete surfaces must have a minimum compressive strength of 20MPa.
Water saturated the entire surface but no standing water. With reinforced steel, it is necessary to remove rust and apply two coats of KKS® MORTATOP 382 as a primer.
MIXING
KKS® MORTATOP 383 must be mixed in a clean container with a low speed electric mixer (500 rpm). Pour enough fresh water as per mixing ratio into a small cleaned container, mix about 3-4 minutes until reaching consistency.
APPLICATION
At first, coating the KKS® MORTATOP 382 as a primer with brush, roller or suitable spray device on the wet substrate. Then, KKS® MORTATOP 383 is applied on wet connected layer. Compress the material with plaster and apply to the center. If the thickness is more than 20mm, multiple layers applied is recommended. If the layer is over 48 hours, it should be roughened and moistened again before applying the last coat.
CURING
To ensure the full effect of the cementitious material, it is important to protect the mortar from drying out rapidly due to temperature and wind. Use wet sacks, PE film or suitable curing compound such as KKS® CURING 810.
CLEANNING OF TOOLS
Clean up the KKS® MORTATOP 383 when it has not yet been hardened from the equipment and tools with water. Once the product has hardened, it can only be cleaned mechanically.
