FLOORING
DESCRIPTION
KKS® HARDENER is a ready-mixed hardener, dry-shake type. The product has a cement base and selective aggregate to increase the hardness, resistance to abrasion and aesthetics.
ADVANTAGE
• Ready-to-use powder; easy application; high and consistent quality.
• High resistance to abrasion.
• Inhibits surface dust.
• Enhances resistance to impact.
• Improves resistance to oils and greases.
USE
• Ware-house and basement floor.
• Engineering workshops.
• Parking areas.
• Garage, service station, etc.
APPLICATION
SUBTRATES PREPARATION
The design and construction of the floor should be adequate to withstand the traffic, impact and such other loads the floor is likely to be exposed to. The vibrating beam and leveling work should be in right way to get optimum result. After the concrete separates water and before it is hardening, quickly flattening the substrate with machine.
APPLICATION
KKS® HARDENER should be applied in two layers by broadcasting by hand. Approximately two-thirds of the total quantity should be applied in the first broadcast. Apply first on floor areas adjacent to walls, columns, joints and doorways where the concrete is likely to lose moisture rapidly. After the applied KKS® HARDENER darkens in color indicating absorption of moisture from the concrete and when the concrete has stiffened enough, float the applied surface with power trowel equipped with low flat blades in slow speed. Float just enough to bring the excess moisture to the surface.
FINISHING
Finishing depends on the conditions of application and the required glossiness. When the concrete is about to set, trowel again after further stiffening of the surface with slightly raised blades and higher speed, but avoid raising them to an angle that creates chatter marks or blisters on the surface. Remove any pinholes and trowel marks by hand trowel. The uniformity, glossiness and mechanical properties depend on the process and conditions of application. Color may differ due to the concrete composition such as water volume, cement quality, etc.
CURING
When the finishing surface is hard enough, start curing immediately with water, wet bag... or proper curing agent (KKS® CURING 815) to prevent rapid dehydration to avoid surface split or spotted formation. Safeguard the finishing surface to avoid the mechanical effects while during concrete curing.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Rinse all tools with water before curing.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS / LIMITATIONS
When applying the product, do not apply during strong winds.
Concrete composition as the water volume, cement quality may change color slightly.
Color deflection during concrete drying is normal for this system and is acceptable.
At low relative humidity, white spots are more likely to occur.
At high relative humidity, prone to phenomena such as water separation, maintenance delay, prolong finishing time and slow hardening concrete
