DESCRIPTION
KKS® PLASTAD 500 is a concrete plasticizer and retarder based on modified lignosulfonates used to produce good quality concretes.
It is complies with ASTM C494 type D.
ADVANTAGE
KKS® PLASTAD 500 combines all different impacts through absorbed process on the surface of fine particles and keep it apart from each other in cement hydration processing:
•    Greatly improve workability without increasing water.
•    Allow substantial cement reduction compared to plain concrete.
•    Good control of slump loss.
•    Easy to pump, no water separation.
•    Increase in ultimate strength.
•    Reduced shrinkage and creep.
KKS® PLASTAD 500 is chloride free and other corrosive substances. Therefore it can be used in most of the reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures.
USE
KKS® PLASTAD 500 is especially used for concrete that needs to maintain slump in tropical climates e.g.:
•    Mass concrete.
•    Precast concrete.
•    Transported concrete away.
•    Climb pumping concrete.
•    Concrete foundation, floor, wall, column, etc.
•    Slender components with thick reinforcement.
APPLICATION
DOSAGE
•    Dosage: 0.3 – 0.8 liters/ 100 kg cement.
•    Typical dosage: 0.4 – 0.6 liters/ 100 kg cement.
COMPABILITY
KKS® PLASTAD 500 is possible to combine with all KKS’s concrete admixture products, but it must be added separately to the mix. KKS® PLASTAD 500 is compatible with all Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement.
DISPENSING/ MIXING
KKS® PLASTAD 500 is either added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry concrete mix or added separately to wetted concrete mix.
To have the best results, we suggest the mixing should take place for at least 2-3 minutes.
When adding the adjusting amount of water to control the consistency of mixing batch, it should be done at least 2/3 period of mixing time to avoid bleeding of water
PLACING OF CONCRETE
Using KKS® PLASTAD 500 can produce the best quality of concrete. However, it should be complied and applied with standard procedures on mixing, placing, vibrating, curing for concrete.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS/ LIMITATIONS
When overdosed, setting time will be extended, depending on cement content and temperature but ultimate strength will be not impaired. It is required to use an appropriate mixer and do not mix by hand.
Trial mixes are recommended to establish exact dosage rates required to suit individual requirements. If assistance is required, please contact the KKS Technical Service Department.
CURING
All of the effectively curing methods for concrete should be done.
